Last Wednesday evening the Raiders girls’ ultimate team won the state title over cross-town rival Northwest. The Raiders rushed out to a 6-2 lead in the first half before losing their senior captain Zina Hurd to a freak injury. Though momentarily flustered by the injury, the Raiders stepped up to the challenge, defended their lead, and went on to win by the final score of 10-7. The win is the 3rd state crown in the last 5 seasons for the Raiders.
This weekend the Raiders will travel to Missouri to contend for the Western HS National Championship. The Raiders are seeking their 3rd national title.
