About Hale Swim Team
The Nathan Hale swim program is one of the largest in the Metro League with almost 80 kids signed up last year. This program requires significant coordination and effort to make it effective. Unlike other sports programs at Nathan Hale, the swim team does not have free use of equipment, facilities or support for those facilities. The Raiders are responsible for negotiating pool time, performing lifeguard duties during practices and meets, conducting swim meet set up and take down as well as cleaning the facilities after each use. Relative to other sports programs we have little on campus presence, as neither of the coaches is affiliated with the school. In order to make the program as successful and beneficial for the participants as possible, we rely heavily on volunteer efforts from parents and the community. We ask that parents of swimmers contribute to the program to help make it successful.
Eligibility Medical eligibility forms must be obtained from and returned to the Nathan Hale High School Athletic Secretary. (Student Information, Proof of Insurance, Medical Emergency Contact.) Athletes are not allowed to participate until these are completed.
The metro league requires that swimmers complete a minimum of 10 practices prior to swimming in a competition. School attendance is also required on competition days. Academic standards must also be met in order to participate in the athletic programs and competitions.
Participants cannot miss team events in favor of non-school related athletic activities.
